Awesome end to 2010

Well this will probably be my last blog for 2010. I don't even know where to begin with all the blessings that God has given us this year. We have grown so much this year. God has blessed us financially, personally and spiritually. We have gone through some trials, some good and some that really took us out of our comfort zone. But all of them have been a blessing to us.
Our visit to NM for Christmas has been one of the best and most memorable we'be had. God blessings are so wonderful and to see prayers being answered is so awesome. I won't get into detail but some of our family and I were not seeing eye to eye and had not seen each other for over 4 years and this year walls were taken down. We just came back from visiting with my family and it was one of the best visits that we have had. The past was not brought up and a new beginning has begun. What can I say but I have felt the hands of God over me an bring peace. It is such an awesome feeling that I'm almost in tears just writing about it.
God's favor is so awesome I love that feeling so much. Thank you lord for everything that you have blessed us with. Thank you for the awesome glory that is you. Though you all things are possible and through prayer you will always answer. Help us to remember that you always answers prayers in you time, not our time.
I can't wait to see how awesome 2011 is going to be. To all my friends and family. I hope that you all have a safe and happy new years. 2011 is going to be awesome!

He is the Reason!!

OK so it's time for my bi-monthly blog! lol! I really want to post more frequent. So it's 2 days away from December. Thanksgiving is over and I'm still full! lol Maybe I need to stop eating leftovers. What can I say I love Turkey.

Well the main thing that I wanted to post today was awareness and reminder of the seasons. With Christmas fastly approaching, its easy to lose site of the true meaning of Christmas. This is the time that we celebrate the best day of the year. The birth of our savior Jesus Christ. If it wasn't for this man being born for one purpose, to die for Man's sins, who knows where we would be. It is very easy to get lost into what the stores have made into a shopping chaos. We love shopping and enjoying the sales on Black Friday as much as everyone else. even when we say all we are going to do on that Friday is stay home, we still find ourselves going out that afternoon. I'm just so thankful that the lord has blessed us with good jobs to be able to enjoy these days.

We were up in Indianapolis and passed by an awesome display of Christmas lights. It was cool! Some of the things that they made out of lights were the abominable snowman, the Grinch, penguins and ice skaters on a pond and a church. But the one thing that stood out in my mind were the words, "Jesus is the reason for the Season". It really got me thinking of what Christmas means to me.

Christmas to me is the time to be thankful for all the blessings that the lord has given to me and my family. Even when we fall short, he is still there blessing us and letting us know that he hears our prayers. We are really looking forward to the Christmas vacation to NM (home). We get to see some of our friends and family. There isn't a better gift that I could ask for. Just another day to praise him, and thank him for dying for my sins, and be thankful for his blessings.

So this year enjoy the food, presents and company with friends. But don't forget to celebrate the birth of Jesus. I love you lord!

Lost in the Colors

Ok I can't believe that it's already Mid-October! It's been forever since i've been on here! So what has been going on? We've been busy running all over the place. So far we have been to one Notre Game this year and are gearing up for the second in a couple of weeks! They have had a pretty good season this year. A couple of hard losses but so far so good with New Head Coach Brian Kelley.
We are still trying to sell our house but we are being patient and letting God take the wheel. the good thing we are in no hurry. He will bless us with a sell when he feels we are ready. God a good word yesterday in Church that reminded us to be patient.
This weekend we took in some fall activities. One of the great things about living here in the midwest is that we get to really experience all 4 seasons. We love fall here! All the trees are turning to beautiful colors. Not as bright we are used to cause of the lack of rain. But they are still awesome to look at. We took Jennica to the Corn Maze in Loogootee, IN ar Lark Ranch. If you have never been it's a fun time. They have hay rides to their pumpkin patches, great food and an awesome maze that is different every year. Its so fun to try to get through it at night! Yesterday after church we took a ride to Nashville, IN to take some fall pictures. Just the drive alone makes you get lost in all the colors the trees are. The three of us have such a great time together! Creating memories with my girls is so awesome. I just hope they enjoy it as much as I do. Take a look at some of the pics we took! to see the rest check out my facebook page. Well until next time! God bless

Awesome start to Year 7

What an awesome weekend that we had! It was a great way to start our seventh year. The three of us celebrated our 6th anniversary as a family. we spend the day in the sun at Holiday World, its an amusement park in Santa Clause, IN. I was amazed once again by Jennica! She told us that she would go on a roller coaster for me because it was Father's Day. Of course I was not going to make her. We already traumatized her when we went on our honeymoon to Disney World. She had to go on all the rides that we went on because she was too small to wait for us. She did goods the whole time until that last ride. We went on the Rock'n Roller Coaster, and that one was it. That was six years ago. of course Jennica is a lot older and still doesn't like rides. But that fact that she was brave enough to attempt to concur her fear for me because it was Father's Day left me speechless. Well holiday world had a new ride last year that we never got to ride, it's called the Pilgrims Plunge. this is the world's tallest water ride, 135 ft high and drops you at a 45 deg angle into a lot of water. She sat next to me very nervous and I did everything to comfort her. Before you knew we were drenched in water. I looked to her and she was almost to cry. So I just let her squeeze my hand. YOU DID IT, I told her! I'm so proud of you. Which I was very proud of her! She said she was done and I said ok. Just the fact that she was able to give a try was enough for me. She's growing up.
After that we just spent the rest of the day in wave pool getting tan. While we were in the water, Adriana decided to ask us to tell each other the things that we love about each other. That was awesome to hear all the things that both Jennica and her had to say about me. Then we just laughed all the way home. What an awesome way to celebrate the day we became a family. Thank you Jesus for the many blessings.
Father's Day was awesome also. Got up made the girls breakfast as I always do, got ready for Church. After Church, we spend 3 hours at Chili's with some great friends, Jackie and Dennis, laughing up storm, catching up on things and just having an awesome time.
Well I hope that all you dad's out there had as awesome of a time as I did. Until next time. God Bless!

Daddy's Love

I can't believe that its already going to be 6 years that I have been a daddy to one of this world's greatest kids. I can still remember the day and time when Jennica called me in the airport on our way to Las Vegas and asked me to be her daddy. This was one of my proudest moments. Of course I told her that she could. That trip to Las Vegas was full of surprises. When we landed in Las Vegas and called to let everyone know that we had arrived safe, Jennica wanted to talk to me again. Still in awe after our last talk, she asked me, "when are you going to marry my mommy". I asked her why she was asking me this? She told me that her nana had told her that she couldn't call me daddy until I married her mom. She so wanted to call me daddy that she couldn't wait for Adriana and I to get married. Little did she know that I was going to propose to Adriana that night. When we returned from that trip and told her that we were going to get married, she was excited. So here we are 6 years later and she has turned from a pretty little girl into a Beautiful young lady. Everyday that I see her I start to panic as I know that she is going to be turning the boy's heads. She just graduated from 6th grade and is about to start a new journey into middle school and it's hard to believe that in just 6 more years she will be an adult about to go to college. But one thing that will never change no matter how old she gets is that she will always be my baby girl. God certainly blessed me with a great family to love. Thank you Jesus!

So many Blessings

Where do I begin? I created this Blog so that people could keep up on me as well as remind myself of all the blessings that God has given me over the years. I called it "Soldier of Christ" because that's what I am. With every day comes a new battle. The Enemy doesn't rest and he's always searching for ways that he can break us. But knowing that I serve God, and try my best to live every day through him, I can rest assure that there is nothing that the Enemy can conjure up that can't be beat through God! Over the past 34 years, God has got me through some major hurdles and continues to each day.
I'm from a small town in Northern New Mexico, Taos. I graduated from Taos High school in 1993. Immediately left home for college and never really looked to move back. I graduated college with a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering in 2000. College was definitely a great time. I made some amazing friends that lately, through facebook, I've been able to catch up with a lot of them. I became a member of Omega Delta Phi Fraternity where I learned the true meaning of brotherhood. I moved to Bloomington, IN where i still live today. I got married to the most beautiful and most wonderful lady in the world, my high school sweet heart, Adriana. We have 1 daughter, Jennica, who everyday is a wonder and Joy. Since graduating from college God has definitely blessed me with a great job working for the Navy. In the past ten years, the senior leaders here have seen my abilities and values that have assisted in me having a great career.
Thank you Jesus for all the blessings that you have given my family and me. We love you!!
